Peak performance for
fluorometric and luminometric measurements
The Fluoroskan Ascent and
the two-in-one Fluoroskan Ascent FL set the standard in performance and ease
of use. For even greater flexibility in the lab, the Fluoroskan Ascent FL is
equipped with luminometric technology, complementing the long list of
advanced features of the Fluoroskan Ascent, which is designed for
fluorometric measurements. The Fluoroskan Ascent FL provides full coverage
for fluorometric and glow and flash luminometric applications. Together with
powerful PC Software, it is a high-performance tool for research,
industrial and clinical applications.
The application areas of the
Fluoroskan Ascent and Ascent FL models range from cell biology and immunology to molecular
biology and microbiology. For many applications - including Ca2+
measurement, cell proliferation, cytotoxicity, hybridization assays,
reporter gene assays, phagocytosis and immunoassays - both fluorometric and
luminometric detection methods can be used.
Flexibility plus lower
costs
The Fluoroskan Ascent FL
doubles your value - reducing costs, improving efficiency and saving bench
space in the lab. These benefits also apply to robot-controlled applications
because just one system - hardware and software - covers both fluorometric
and luminometric techniques. Even during a single session, the Fluoroskan
Ascent FL provides the freedom to perform both types of measurements.
High-performance optics
The direct illumination
optics of the Fluoroskan Ascent FL produces a highly focused light beam. In
fluorescence measurement, this prevents crosstalk and ensures accurate
readings. Two beam diameter settings, 3 mm and 1.5 mm, allow optimal
readings of
1-96 and 384-well plates. Automatic gain selection eliminates the need for
manual adjustment in fluorometry. It also guarantees the best possible
sensitivity and dynamic range for all wavelengths. High sensitivity is one
of the main benefits of fibreless optics -- and a critical feature for
luminometry.
Market-leading dispenser
system
For easy and accurate
addition of reagents, up to three dispensers can be fitted on board the
Fluoroskan Ascent and Ascent FL. Dispensing volumes can be adjusted in
5µl increments over a volume range of 5-1000µl.
Speed and precision are the
key features of these dispensers. The system can dispense and measure
simultaneously, which enables Ca2+ measurement and other rapid
kinetic applications. The fast read time of the Fluoroskan Ascent FL, just
15 seconds for a 96-well plate, is another important advantage for kinetic
applications.
On-board incubation and
orbital shaking
An incubator option is
available for cell biology, enzyme assays and other applications requiring
precise temperature control.
Built-in orbital shaking,
another advanced feature, speeds up reaction times and ensures effective
mixing. Both the speed and amplitude of shaking can be adjusted.
Effective robotic
integration
Robotic integration is simple
and effective with the Fluoroskan Ascent and Ascent FL. The plate carrier allows
convenient access for the robotic arm, and Ascent Software is easy to
integrate with robotic systems. The execution of predefined assays can be
controlled remotely, and the software can be set up to export and import
data automatically.
The instrument is supplied
with PC software and one filter pair of users choice.
