Immunoassay Products
High quality binding
surfaces
MTX Labs, Inc.'s variety of Microtiter
products permits selection of the optimum binding characteristics and
microplate formulations for immunoassays. MTX Miicrotiter products have
binding characteristics that include immulon, and universal/enhanced binding
plates. These make good experimental design easier, allowing development of
assays with stringent pH, buffer, pKa and resin requirements.
Five choices of binding
characteristics:
|
Immulon 1 B |
consistent medium binding affinity for
hydrophobic complexes and proteins. |
|
Immulon 2 HB |
high binding irradiated surface to
provide increased binding affinity for hydrophilic proteins and
complexes. |
|
Immulon 4 HBX |
high binding extra surface with special
resin and irradiation, offers maximum protein uptake. |
|
Universal Binding (UB) |
consistent medium binding affinity for
hydrophobic complexes and proteins. |
|
Enhanced Binding (EB) |
high binding irradiated surface to
provide increased binding affinity for hydrophilic proteins and
complexes. Guaranteed coefficient of variation (CVs). |
Five choices
of well shapes
Well shapes can be chosen to best suit your
application.
|
Flat bottom |
works well for reagent injection while
providing the optimal optical characteristics. |
|
C-bottom |
similar to the Flat bottom, with a
slight rounded curve before the bottom. |
|
U-bottom |
improves washing in ELISAs, enhances
sensitivity in fluorescent applications and facilitates observation of
agglutination reactions. |
|
Round-bottom |
enhances washing in ELISAs while
retaining high-quality optical characteristics. |
|
Flat bottom with radius edge |
enhances washing in ELISAs, works well
for reagent injection and provides 0optimal optical characteristics. |

Highly flexible plate
configurations
MTX's Immulon and universal/enhanced
binding Microtiter plates are available in 96-well and strip plate format,
allowing you to match them perfectly to your automated instruments. These
plates with breakable strips offer maximum efficiency for processing both
large and small numbers of samples, as the exact number of wells required
can be used. The break-apart wells have a unique well locking system that
keeps the wells and your samples securely in place. Strips come in 1x8 and
1x12 break-apart or solid strip format with paired 2x8 strips also
available.

Combiplates
|
The Combiplate consist
of 8- or 12- well Microstrips, either solid or breakable, assembled in a
MultiFrame. The reusable MultiFrame supports each well individually,
ensuring the correct positioning for automated instruments. The frame
is suitable for stacking systems, and it is vented for efficient
incubation of microplate wells.
Advanced features and careful design
ensure the reliability of Microstrips. Coating and washing are always
even, and a recessed bottom keeps the surface clean and scratch free,
ensuring high optical performance. Depending on the plate format,
Microstrips are available with Universal Binding, Enhanced Binding,
Streptavidin-Coated
and covalent AquaBind surfaces. |
 |
|
Breakable Microstrips offer maximum economy for
processing a small number of samples. Careful design and special
features ensure reliability. The exact number of wells needed can be
broken off and inserted into the MultiFrame.
Combiplates and Microstrips are
available in clear, black and white versions. |
Advanced features of the
Combiplate
- Economical two-part plate
(MultiFrame plus Microstrips) allows the use of exact number of wells.
- Improved Safety
- Top-quality materials
ensure high optical performance and optimum binding characteristics.
- Unique Well Locking
System keeps wells in place.
- Maximum well volume
400µl.
- The same MultiFrame can
be used with both 8- and 12-well solid and breakable Microstrips.

A patented Well Locking System
keeps Microstrips firmly in place. Even single wells will not
dislodge if the frame is shaken or inverted. To lock, wells are
turned slightly after insertion in the MultiFrame.
|
 |
|
Breakable Microstrips are specially
designed to snap apart, so the exact number of wells needed can be
inserted in the MultiFrame. Handles at the strip end are easy to
remove, and the correct height of individual wells is ensured by a
ridge around the well. |

Luminescence
Application Products
MTX Offers a selection of Microtiter
plates specifically designed for luminescence applications. Microlite
and white universal/enhanced binding plates are very densely pigmented
to minimize cross talk and to provide high reflectivity. These
characteristics are ideal for very intense luminescent reactions where
light piping may be a concern or minimal luminescence assays where even
a minute amount of light could affect your results.
